The Full Story
Hi! I’m Jenna, the face, heart and soul behind Elevation Equine. I’m a life-long horse girl who’s experienced the high-highs and low-lows that comes with horse ownership. Those experiences have taught me A LOT and have ultimately become the foundation for Elevation Equine.

The story begins before I was born. My grandpa wasn’t raised with horses, but always had a fascination with them and bought one as quick as he could. This turned into teaching my mom and my aunt (his daughters) everything he knew. As you can guess, this bled into the next generation, me, and I began riding before I could walk. Horse shows, trail rides, lessons, camps, 4-H, AQHA, rodeo queen titles, anything and everything – if it involved horses I was there. My horse life was good… until it wasn’t.

December 2012, I vividly remember being called into the office at my high school and being told I had a phone call, my mom was on the other end of the line and as soon as I heard her, I knew something was wrong. Cooper was hurt, she was picking me up and we were headed to the veterinary hospital at Iowa State University. I remember the office secretary asking my mom if this was a family emergency and without hesitation, she replied ‘yes’.
Funny enough, Cooper was supposed to be on a trailer headed to South Carolina. My main show horse was sold, so we could use the money to pay for college. God had other plans. After a traumatic brain injury, 2 spinal cord diseases, IV nutrients because he couldn’t eat on his own and 3 weeks in a padded stall later, Cooper became more than my heart-horse. He’s my miracle horse.
Fast forward 10 years and I’ve found myself in a similar boat. I dreamed of being a barrel racer, but never had a horse fit for the job. In 2020, I took my dream and told myself to ‘be brave enough to try something new’. I wasn’t new to horses, but I was new to barrel racing and barrel racing in Oklahoma is enough tougher. I bought a horse who was a seasoned veteran, I knew he would be the perfect fit to teach me the ropes. He did and it was going great… until it wasn’t.
Six months after I’d begun the barrel racing journey, Red started showing not-normal signs. A sore back, excessive yawning, consistently itchy face and more. Here we go again. Countless veterinarians, in and out of a rehabilitation facility, kissing spine surgery, this supplement and that supplement, lasering, taping, adjusting, stretching, nerve work, muscle work, the list goes on. For more than two years I’d been on a rehab-ride, and the worst part is no one seemed to have answers. I’ve felt like giving up – multiple times. Again, God had other plans. Isn’t it funny how He knows exactly what we need, even when it makes zero sense to us?
Why do I tell you all of this? Because hopefully you’ll learn that I can emphasize with you and your story. These horses and experiences have allowed me to gain so much knowledge. Knowledge I can put to use, to help your horse. Whether your horse has a traumatic story like mine, are helping you fulfill your dreams or are simply bringing joy to your life, I know your partner is special and I can’t wait to meet them.
